More photos of the 150-year old TufShield™-finished Rice Barn

In the two last blogs, we saw before and after photos of a 150-year old teak rice barn in Thailand that was completely finished with TufShield™. As mentioned in the earlier blogs, the wood was first cleaned using TufShield™ TS Reducer, was then coated with a dark rub stain, and was then finished using 4 coats of TufShield™ Base Coat and 2 coats of TufShield™ Top Coat Gloss.

In this entry, we'll see a few more close up photos of the rice barn. Remember that all the wood used here is over 150 years old.

As always, you can click on any photo to enlarge it.

Final Pictures of The TufShield™-finished Teak Rice Barn

In the last blog entry, we saw pictures of a 150-year old teak rice barn in Thailand that had been relocated to a new location, assembled, cleaned, and treated with a dark wood stain in preparation for being finished with TufShield™.

Specifically, the rice barn was finished with 4 coats of TufShield™ Base Coat and 2 coats of TufShield™ Top Coat Gloss. As mentioned in the blog from yesterday, before using TufShield™ on the rice barn, the bare wood of the entire structure was first cleaned with TufShield™ TS Reducer and was then coated with a dark rub stain to bring a rich, dark colour out.

In this entry, we'll see the "after" shots of the TufShield™-finished rice barn. As always, you can click on any photo to increase the size.

150-Year Old Teak Rice Barn Gets Finished with TufShield™

A 150-year old solid teak rice barn located in Thailand has recently been refinished with TufShield.™ The entire rice barn had been disassembled and moved to its new location in preparation for the finishing.

The bare wood was first completely cleaned off using the TufShield™ TS Reducer product. The TS Reducer can be used to clean up dirty or heavily oiled wood prior to application of the TufShield™ Base Coat.

Next, the bare wood was treated with a dark rub stain at the request of the rice barn owner, to get a dark, rich look.

Following this, 4 coats of TufShield Base Coat and 2 coats of Top Coat Gloss was applied to finish it off.

In this blog, we'll see some of the "before" photos as the rice barn was being prepared with the dark rub stain. As always, you can click on any photo to increase the size.
